Coventry

A thriving student city

Coventry is a large city with two Universities and a student population of more than 55,000 which makes it a great place to live as a student.

  • Maintaining its ranking as fifth best student city in the UK (Top Universities, 2019), there’s a wide selection of shops, bars, pubs and restaurants.
  • Plenty of green open spaces including the beautiful War Memorial Park and Coombe Country Park.
  • Most of our students chose to live in Earlsdon, Canley and Cannon Park but Westwood Heath, Green Lane and Tile Hill are also popular. All of these areas have strong Warwick communities and easy commutes on to campus.

Earlsdon

Earlsdon has one of the highest student populations in Coventry and a pleasant community feel. It has its own high street filled with shops, bars and restaurants and is conveniently located close to the city’s main train station. Positioned between Coventry city centre and Warwick campus, Earlsdon is well connected.

Student experiences

I’ve grown to really like my student house and the area of Earlsdon and feel like I could not have made a better choice." - Emma

For me, Earlsdon had everything I needed within a ten-minute walk. The Coop at the end of the high street was where I got the groceries, Boots where I got any meds, there was an organic shop for when I was feeling virtuous and a Weatherspoons pub for when I was not." - Fiona

Canley and Cannon Park border campus to the north and east and benefit from Cannon Park Shopping Centre on the doorstep.

Student experiences

I chose to live in Canley mainly because it’s so close to campus – the walk to central campus is less than half an hour. This saves a lot of time day to day and means you don’t have to pay for the bus on a daily basis which can save you a lot of money." - Beth
